EYE HEALTH

Over half your memories are visual. Don't forget your eye health.

Think of something that matters to you... More than likely, it's an image that popped into your mind. But while you're constantly forming new memories, you'll only ever have one set of eyes, so take care of them.

The key to good vision is a regular eye examination. If you haven't had one within the last two years, we recommend you make an appointment now.  Remember, your eyesight is precious and deserves the highest standards of professional care.

Childhood Vision

Research shows that one in five children has an undetected sight problem.  When children have poor vision they'll find it difficult to learn at school as well as enjoy everyday childhood activities.  All children should have a pre-school examination.

Forty Plus Vision

Many people from their mid-40s onwards find they need glasses for reading, while nearly everyone will have spectacles by the time they're 65.  In later life you're also more more likely to experience a medical problem that affects your vision. Glaucoma typically affects those over 40, while cataracts and macular degeneration mainly occur in the over-60s.

Annual eye examinations are free for all children and people aged over 60.

Conjunctivitis.

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is the thin layer that covers the white of the eye and the inside of the eyelids. It can affect one or both eyes, causing discomfort.

Cataracts.

A cataract is a clouding of the lens in your eye and can develop in one or both eyes. Cataracts are painless and usually cause a gradual worsening of sight.
